A Recap of Our Amalfi Coast Yoga Retreat
Welcome to Positano!
This is a highlight reel of our 5th visit to this incredible slice of Italy and it did not disappoint.
First off a big thank you to our amazing group that came from all over the world to practice and adventure with us on the Amalfi Coast. And secondly a heart felt thank you to our team at La Selva who made our stay so wonderful.
For those of you who do not know the Amalfi Coast it is a little slice of paradise just over an hour south of Rome. It is home to some of the most beautiful cliffs, water, lemons and of course the world famous town of Positano.
We welcomed our group with a gift box created by Marta who has a natural cosmetic and skincare line made with ingredients straight from La Selva (our home for the week).
We were lucky enough to be around when one of La Selva’s beautiful dogs, Kali had puppies.
They were adorable and such a happy surprise!
The first days were spent settling into this magical place perched on the hill, practicing yoga and exploring Positano in the day.
All the food is prepared daily, made from their garden and is as fresh as it gets!
Our first full day trip was our boat trip to Capri. It is such a magical way to see the coast as most of the little inlets can only be accessed by boat.
After some swimming we sped off to Capri to get lunch.
Lunch is always such a treat at this beautiful restaurant. The food on the retreat is vegetarian but we always make the most of some of the fresh seafood served at this beautiful spot, and of course… pasta and a glass of wine!
Capri is the picture of perfect Italian summers. Although it can be crowded everyone seems to find their perfect spot and we made the most focusing on seeing it from the sea rather than going into the town.
After a coffee and laugh we headed off to see the famous Faraglioni and caves around Capri before heading back to Positano.
Yoga framed the days perfectly with early morning wake ups to avoid the heat and evenings used to stretch out after all the walking.
The pool also came in handy to cool off after hiking up to La Selva from Positano.
Our second big adventure was to walk the “Path of the Gods”.
Honestly what a spectacular experience which literally has you feeling like you are walking along the top of the world.
We set off just before sunrise and hiked from La Selva up to Nocelle where the path starts, then headed down to the beautiful church, S. Maria di Costantinopoli.
After a short meditation and then coffee break we walked all the way down to Praiano and took a well deserved swim in the gorgeous water.
Although the hike was physically demanding it was so invigorating and allowed us to see the Amalfi Coast from a completely different angle.
After our swim in Praiano we jumped on a boat taxi over to Positano and had some well deserved lunch.
Other days were spent either relaxing at La Selva and enjoying a book and ‘Il Dolce Far Niente’ (the sweetness of doing nothing) or they were spent exploring.
Another fun little option we gave our students if they didn’t want to head into Positano’s beach was to hike down to the Arienzo beach club that has some of the best ravioli and makes a mean Aperol Spritz.
With all the hiking, walking and swimming we did through out the week the Yoga and Meditation practice was so wonderful to stay balanced.
We ended the week with a fun partner yoga workshop and made the most of the Yoga platform with THE BEST view ever!
As always this last retreat flew by as we had such a lovely time.
We already cannot wait for next year!
We created a little highlights video to give you a better idea of our 2019 trip just below.

"One of the best retreats that I ever attended. I have attended several retreats. This one was by far one of the best. I will attend any retreat organized by Chloe and Christian. They take the yoga practice experience to next level by creating some sort of workshop and leading students to improve their techniques and have a safe and rewarding experience. They make sure that everyone is well and happy and try to accommodate needs. Chloe and Christian are thoughtful and extremely responsible, detail oriented and compromised. Great experience.”
